Mad Max : Fury Road is now streaming on Hulu.
Hulu has some new movies coming out in the months ahead, but the streaming service also offers some classics to watch. In fact, they have recently added one of the best films of the past decade. The six-time Oscar-winning film, Mad Max : Fury Road, was released on Hulu this week. The fourth installment of the Mad Max franchise was directed by George Miller and has become a favorite among film lovers.
“Mad Max is caught up with survivors fleeing across the Wasteland in a war rig driven by Imperator Furiosa,” describes Hulu on its website. The film stars Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Josh Helman, Zoë Kravitz, Courtney Eaton, Riley Keough, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Abbey Lee, and more.
Fury Road was one of the most difficult film shoots in cinema history. Last year, Theron appeared on the Smartless podcast and revealed a surprising detail about the production of Fury Road.
“Actually, it was cold,” Theron explained. “Really cold. It’s hot, yeah, it was freezing. We had a lot of cases of hypothermia. Especially the young girls who only wear bandages. Many of them suffered from hypothermia. I was cold just because when you don’t have hair on your head, you forget that it’s a heat release. It was really cold, actually.”
It has been a long journey for the prequel film Furiosa, which will see Anya Taylor-Joy play the lead character that was originally portrayed by Theron in Fury Road. For now, Furiosa is set to arrive in theaters on May 24, 2024, nearly a decade after the release of Fury Road.
In Mad Max : Furiosa, as the world collapses, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a massive motorcycle gang led by warlord Dementus. As they traverse the Wasteland, they encounter the Citadel presided over by The Immortan Joe. As the two tyrants fight for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she gathers the means to return home. The film was written and directed by Miller and will also feature Chris Hemsworth as Dementus.
Earlier this year, Theron spoke to Entertainment Tonight and offered strong support for Taylor-Joy taking on the fan-favorite character.
“I met her years ago and didn’t really get to hang out with her at a reception or anything,” explained Theron. “I think she’s going to be just fine. Without me talking to her, she’s going to be just fine.”
