Marginalisation de Madame Web
Madame Web a fait ses débuts en salles la semaine dernière, mettant en lumière un certain nombre d’héroïnes de Marvel Comics qui n’avaient pas encore eu leur dû à l’écran.
Le film raconte l’histoire d’origine de Cassandra « Cassie » Webb (Dakota Johnson), qui devient la super-héroïne aveugle clairvoyante Madame Web. À travers l’histoire de Madame Web, le film a fini par rendre hommage aux créateurs originaux de bandes dessinées de Cassie. Des spoilers pour Madame Web se cachent ci-dessous ! Au début de Madame Web, alors que Cassie est aux prises avec ses super pouvoirs troublants, elle et ses collègues ambulanciers sont chargés de s’occuper des victimes d’une explosion à proximité des quais.
Grâce à ses capacités, Cassie a accidentellement une vision d’elle effectuant une RCR sur son collègue, O’Neil (Mike Epps). Effectivement, même si Cassie lui conseille de ne pas conduire son ambulance dans ce qui sera finalement une collision frontale mortelle, O’Neil décède et sa mort envoie Cassie dans un épisode dépressif. Bien que le prénom d’O’Neil ne soit pas mentionné dans le film, son nom de famille fait clairement référence à l’écrivain et co-créateur Dennis O’Neil.
Plus tard dans le film, Cassie et ses pupilles tentent de distancer Ezekiel Sims (Tahar Rahim) en l’attirant dans une usine de feux d’artifice. Les caisses d’explosifs de l’usine de feux d’artifice portent la marque « Romita » – un clin d’œil à l’artiste John Romita Jr. qui a co-créé le personnage original MadameWeb aux côtés D’O’Neill La première version D’O’Neill italienne remonte au années 1980 The Amazing Spider-Man #210, numéro où est apparue pour La avant fois allasce improbable avec Peter Parker / Spider-Man.
